The Cowslip Release Post Quote Thread

As you may have noticed, Rabbits have a tradition of using a quote cribbed from high culture (philosophy, famous people quotes, 'great classic' literature and poetry, religious texts, plays, etc.) for every release. We'd like to get a collection to draw from (usually the quote relates to the some vague way), so everyone gets one post a day here of whatever quote they like.

Liber Loagaeth

“Mika surascha para te gàmmes adrios NA danos.

Vra lad pacad ur gesme crus a prasep ed a palse nax varno zum.

Zan cu asdom baged urmigar orch phaphes ustra nox affod masco gax camles unsanba a oh la gras par quas consa qual lat gemdax tantat; ba vod talpah ian.”

ak's Yggology

“An image of a thing with an yggality between 1 and 10 has 33 times the yggality of the original thing, unless the resulting number of yggs exceeds 10,000 in which case the yggality is just 10,000. For example if X has an yggality of 7 then a drawing of X will have an yggality of 231, and a photo of that drawing will have 7,623 yggs. A fax of that photo will have an yggality of 10,000.”

The Tempest

“Before you can say ‘Come’ and ‘Go,’
And breathe twice; and cry ‘so, so,’
Each one, tripping on his toe,
Will be here with mop and mow.
Do you love me, master? no?”

Poetry/lyrics example:

Delibes' "The Flower Duet" (link to the song if you want)

“Sous le dôme épais
Où le blanc jasmin
À la rose s’assemble
Sur la rive en fleurs
Riant au matin
Viens, descendons ensemble.”

Percy Bysshe Shelley's "Art Thou Pale For Weariness"

“Art thou pale for weariness
Of climbing heaven and gazing on the earth,
Wandering companionless
Among the stars that have a different birth,
And ever changing, like a Joyless eye
That finds no object worth its constancy?”

Aim for HIGH CULTURE, remember. The more esoteric, the better. Make sure to say where it came from so we don't get repeats (someone'll tell you......or at least I hope someone'll recognize it as a repeat). Both short quotes and long quotes are acceptable. Languages outside of English are acceptable (we've had French songs and Latin occult before).

We'll mark down which ones got used.

Reserving the space for the list.
